Professional designers know what tools to turn to when it comes to creating layouts, covers or flyers, but it is a completely different matter for the masses who simply want to get the job done without too much hassle. Gravit Designer proposes a simpler and more convenient approach to the designing process. Unlike the big names of the industry, like Adobe or Corel, this piece of software keeps everything simple, yet it still manages to provide you with all the tools you need to create anything, from simple icons or logos to websites or complex illustrations.

One of Gravit Designer's main advantages is the fact that it is offered completely free of charge. It is available for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux, as well as Android and iOS mobile platforms and it comes as a web application as well, which can be used directly on a web browser. Downloading and installing the desktop version shouldn't take long, even on older machines, it doesn't involve any complicated configurations and you don't have to meet any special requirements.

The software's user interface has a modern and attractive design. It features a large number of controls, but you can't really say that it's overcrowded and difficult to get used to. Besides the large canvas, in the central region of the window, you can find various tools all around it.

The top part of the interface is where you will find tools for drawing and manipulating shapes. A wide range of pre-made shapes, illustrations, icons and other elements can be fond in a column, on the left side of the interface, where you can also find options for adding symbols and for creating and manipulating layers, on different tabs.

It takes a single click to insert a graphical element into your project, after which you can resize it and move it by clicking and dragging. The interesting part is that most of the objects are made out of multiple polygons, which can be resized and moved separately. Furthermore, selected elements can be tweaked in numerous ways, on the right side of the interface, where you will find different controls, depending on what you select.

To help you get started, Gravit Designer lets you choose between preset canvas sizes at the start of a project, which are optimized for different platforms. Furthermore, it provides you with a wide array of templates, all neatly organized by project type. Your completed work can be stored in different graphical formats, like JPEG or PNG images, scalable vector graphics files (SVG) or the ever-so-popular PDF. What's more, you can choose to store your projects locally or in the cloud.
